| This picture was taken in Okinawa by a publicist on General MacArthur's staff, making the most of the members of the 9th - MacArthur's Honor Guard - for publicity back home. Note the "9FS" stenciled on the jeep. T/Sgt Sparkman, as Communications Chief for the 9th, was posed with his left side turned away from the camera to hide a tropical rash on his face. |
